History of SUF
Sacramento Uganda Fellowship History
Sacramento Uganda Fellowship was established in 2016 as a New Worshipping Community (NWC) under the auspices of University Presbyterian Church (now Sierra Vista Community Church). It was born out of the desire to unite Ugandans living in Sacramento with each other, and to foster a shared spiritual, cultural, and developmental mission with communities in Uganda.
The Fellowship promotes understanding, dialogue, and collaboration among Ugandan communities, Sacramento residents, and the broader public. Through faith-driven partnerships and community activities, it supports initiatives that build stronger ties and improve lives both in Uganda and in the diaspora.
In 2020, Sacramento Uganda Fellowship initiated the Sacramento Uganda Ministry Network (SUMN) to unify and coordinate faith-based development efforts across various churches and organizations with a shared vision. This network fosters cross-border ministry and outreach in sectors like education, health, agriculture, ICT, and microfinance.
About Our
Programs & Focus Areas
Through our collaboration with SUMN and Ugandan partners, we support projects that focus on:
Education & Leadership Development
We believe education is the cornerstone of lasting transformation. Through scholarships, vocational training, and mentorship programs, we equip children and youth with the knowledge and confidence to lead.
Health, Water & Sanitation
Access to clean water and proper healthcare is not a privilege—it’s a basic right. We support initiatives that provide safe drinking water, hygiene education, sanitation facilities, and community health outreach.
Agriculture & Food Security
A well-fed community is a strong community. We promote sustainable farming methods, agri-training programs, and seed support to help households grow enough food and generate income.
